● Indianapolis police have identified 8 victims at the FedEx shooting, the latest mass shooting. The suspect is 19-year-old Brandon Hole and was confirmed as a former employee of the facility. More details to come as the investigation continues. (USA TODAY)
● There is a rise in highly transmissible and behavioral factors in why more young people are dying of Covid in Brazil. There has also been an unusually high number of fatalities in infants compared to the U.S. and more ICUs fill with a younger population. (The Guardian)
● As the Chauvin trial goes on, there has been a vast amount of criticism on the defense. Much of their arguments after George Floyd’s girlfriend took the stand and spoke about their past issues with drugs, were focused on Floyd’s addiction and victim-blaming. Many believe the defense’s framing are racists deliberately working to sway the jury. (ongoing trial and information) (NPR)
● Lawmakers, mostly of GOP members, who voted against Biden’s certification saw a drop in business contributions. About 80% of PAC donations fell and may continue to fall. Those who voted to approve of Biden’s win only saw a 35% drop. (Wall Street Journal)
● Many states and pharmacies have been recommended to slow down and pause the distribution of the Johnson & Johnson 1-dose vaccine. This was due to a number of people experiencing adverse effects compared to the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines. Keep in mind, birth control that has been regulated has far more side effects on a larger population than people understand. So what do you guys think about this? (simply my curiosity)
