Spring '23 Style Trends

By Sarah Dougherty –

Although Eugene's consistently gloomy weather does not show it, Spring is almost here! It's hard to believe that Spring Break is just a couple of weeks away (or one if you're finals-free). If you're like me and haven't planned any outfits for a day in the sun or a night out with friends, here is a new WICI Pinterest board to get those creative juices flowing. Scroll around, play some Mac DeMarco, and get excited to finish the term!

Once your Pinterest algorithm is on the same page, your home page will become the perfect mood board to give you all the floral, bright, and pastel-y inspo.

Once you've found a look you want to emulate, try thrifting locally or through Depop, Poshmark, or Vinted to source vintage and sustainable pieces. You can also try to limit your contribution to fast fashion and overconsumption by finding classic, timeless items that can be transitioned into summer and fall. H&M et al will be pushing out all of the latest Scandinavian-inspired trending looks, but keep in mind that their low prices come at the cost of underpaid garment workers and designs that won't last long before falling apart. If you're going for a photoshoot kind of day, share clothes with friends or try Rent the Runway for special events. Now, go buy yourself some flowers and get that Vitamin D while it's here!
